Professor Enitan Carrol

Clinical Director of the National Institute for Health Research's Clinical Research Network in the North West Coast

Professor Enitan Carrol is a Professor of Paediatric Infection and Honorary Consultant in Paediatric Infectious Diseases, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. Her research interests include bacterial infections in children, biomarker diagnostic accuracy studies, and early warning scores for early recognition of deterioration. She has over 20 years’ experience of clinical research in hospitalised children with infections, both in the UK and in Malawi. She is currently funded by NIHR and H2020 on studies of biomarkers to guide antimicrobial stewardship in adults and children with suspected sepsis.
